On May 24th, 2008 the 11th annual Russell Alumni Reunion was held at the Russell High School.

To everyone who attended; thank-you for coming and helping make the reunion such a success. How wonderful it was to see so many familiar faces and have the chance to reminisce and catch up with each other. We were so very glad that a record number came back to see the school, teachers and classmates. This reunion was bittersweet for all in attendance knowing this might be the last time seeing the school. Several brought their families to look at the school one last time. The school and all of the class rooms were open for viewing and everyone took advantage and toured the buildings.

There are so many people to thank for helping us out not only at the reunion but, for the last 8 months. A special thanks and recognition goes to Susan McKinley for being our artist and designing the invitations, programs and blue books. A million thanks to Marc Gartin for being our techno guru, setting up and maintaining the web site and for putting together the slide show. June and Buddy Davis your help was so greatly appreciated; you both went above the call of duty. Donise Altenhofen thanks for all of your help. Thanks to Coach Bob Wells for his story of Russell's 1957 state Basketball team.

Cater 2 U catered the dinner and as always the food was wonderful, thanks to the staff for making it go so smoothly. The young ladies and women from the Christian Youth Fellowship group, Chariton; helped serve the meal and clean up. They were absolutely wonderful help. A special thanks to Treva and Tessa White for serving as our hostesses. We served 450 people in a very short time and with out their organization and help it wouldn’t have been possible.

A very big thank-you goes to the Russell School Staff and Teachers; for allowing us to wander thru the class rooms. The school and classrooms all looked great.

One last special thanks to our evening entertainment; Sarah Fuhrmeister Mendoza, Shari Coulson DeBok, Gwen Cottingham, Charles Wright, Jim Werts, Stewart Coulson, Dayton Kendall, Dean Chapman and Wanda Frye Horn. You all did a beautiful job.
